i have a hot water bottle stuffed into my shirt against my belly. we keep the apartment at 62 degrees.
i like it chilly. i like having cold fingers - it feels clean, especially when i'm knitting.
i'm currently attempting a fingerless gloves pattern. i don't know where i'm going with this knitting thing. it's relaxing and an easy way to make gifts, but if i think about it too much it is way too depressing. these things i'm spending hours on, i could buy for a few dollars at walmart. mittens, scarves, throw pillows.
also, i'm just copying patterns from books. there's nothing original or creative or even masterful at this point. and there's no concept behind it. it's nothing nothing nothing like art.
brian gave me a couple knitting books for xmas - a socks book and a reference book. he also gave me a cat power cd which i love very much.
my sister made me a couple of dangly earrings that are kind of eighties but still very nice. my dad bought me some garnet earrings that make me feel pretty fancy when i wear them. mom gave me mostly stuff i'd picked out with her at the mall a few weeks before. she also gave me lolita and a book about some veiled women in iran reading lolita. i really don't want to read lolita.
sara and i got in a huge fight. she is such a brat. i'm sad about the fight tho.
i can't wait for this semester to be over. it's my last semester, and i'll be spending it at the middle school. which is silly, because i don't want to be a middle school teacher, but it's part of the same degree you need for high school teaching. very tricky.
brian is doing last minute grad school application stuff. slides and forms and letters of recommendation. i hope that where-ever we go, i find something to do with myself.
